Amazing London trip!

I bought tickets for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and a Thames River Cruise, and everything was perfect! The tickets were easy to download and use. It made planning my London trip so much simpler. I can't wait to book more tours for my next visit!

Detailed review of BritRail Pass

I purchased the BritRail England Pass for a 7-day trip. The ordering process on the website was straightforward, and I received the pass by mail within 8 business days, as stated. Activating it at the first train station was simple. I used it for travel from London to Bath, then to York, and finally back to London. The pass covered all my journeys without any issues, and I appreciated not having to buy separate tickets. The only minor point was that seat reservations for some longer routes weren't included and had to be booked separately, which wasn't immediately clear during the initial purchase. However, for flexibility, it was excellent value and very user-friendly on the ground.

Reliable for UK travel

This is my third time using VisitBritain for travel passes. I got the BritRail Spirit of Scotland Pass this time, and just like my previous BritRail Passes, it was reliable. The process was smooth from purchase to activation. It's consistently been a good experience, which is why I keep coming back for my UK trips. No surprises, which is what you want.

Easy train travel

Got a BritRail Pass for my trip around England. It was super easy to use, just hopped on and off trains. No fuss at all. Definitely made traveling between cities way less stressful than figuring out individual tickets. Felt good about the purchase.

Good value for attractions

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for ways to save money on attractions. The multi-attraction bundle for Tower of London and Westminster Abbey was a good deal. It wasn't a huge discount, but it was better than buying them separately. I also got the Visitor Oyster Card which saved me a bit on public transport. Felt like I got decent value for my money.

Good for London attractions

I bought the London Pass for my trip. It was pretty convenient for getting into places like the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey without queuing too much. Saved a bit of money compared to buying individual tickets. The app was a little clunky at times, but overall, it worked out well. Delivery of the physical card took about a week, which was reasonable.

I'm looking at a Stonehenge tour for October, but I might need to change my dates later. Can you cancel bookings or change them easily?

T Tim B. 4 days ago
It really depends on the specific tour or ticket. Some are totally non-refundable, others have a window. You'd need to check the fine print for your exact booking.

I had to cancel a booking once, and it was straightforward but they do have specific cancellation policies depending on what you bought. Read the terms for that specific tour before you commit!

has anyone used the britrail pass? i live in the UK but my family is visiting from australia and they want to use it. is that allowed?

S Stephanie 1 week ago
Nah, I don't think you can. Pretty sure it's just for non-UK residents. My mate tried to get one and they wouldn't let him because he lives there.

AFAIK, it's strictly for visitors from outside the UK. It's to encourage tourism, not for locals to get cheaper travel.

Thinking of getting the London Pass, is it worth it or should I just buy tickets to individual attractions? Also, do they ever have discount codes for it?

W William Allen 2 weeks ago
Depends on how many places you wanna see. I did the math and for like 4-5 attractions a day it was definitely cheaper. Haven't seen straight up discount codes for the pass itself, usually it's just bundled deals.

They do often have deals where you get an extra day or something, or sometimes a percentage off if you buy during a sale period like Black Friday. Keep an eye on their site around those times.

thinking about getting tickets for the Harry Potter studio tour, how do these guys compare to like, GetYourGuide or Viator for pricing?

L Laura Anderson 1 week ago
For some stuff, they're pretty similar. But sometimes VisitBritain has unique bundles or things you can't find elsewhere easily because they're official. Might be worth checking both, but usually not huge price differences for the same basic ticket.

I've found them competitive. Sometimes one or the other has a promo, but for standard tickets like HP, it's often the same price since it's a set ticket cost from the attraction itself.

hey, trying to plan a trip to London next spring. wondering how long it takes for the visitor oyster card to actually get to me? shipping to California.

K Kyle Rodriguez 1 month ago
Mine took about 10 days to get to New York. So probably similar for California, give or take.

Yeah, they send it by post. Definitely order it well in advance, mine arrived in about two weeks to the midwest.
